Infinite Machine’s Olto is Unlike Any eBike You’ve Ever Seen

[Music] is the world tired already of ebikes and shifting towards a new form of urban transportation if that really is the case Infinite Machine would like to be the one setting the tone for the functionality the aesthetic and the comfort of such a machine they call this one the Alto an electric two-wheeler that is designed to ride in bike lanes in city traffic and outside of the city in what Infinite Machine calls off-road scenarios don’t let the boxy exterior with sharp lines fool you the Alto comes with dual suspension and beefier tires so it should handle rougher roads just as well though not exactly the kind of off-roading you’d be doing on a Specialized bike infinite Machine is a relatively new presence on the segment of electrified two-wheelers but they’ve already made themselves noticed through the daring combination of bold looks quality materials and US-based production based out of New York they debuted with the P1 a moped that looks like Tesla and Apple had a two- wheel love child a premium solution for urban mobility packed with techen style the P1 is yet to roll out to customers but production is ramping up for those urban commuters for whom the $10,000 plus price tag of a P1 might be a turnoff as well as its applicability as a full-in moped Infinite Machine has now designed and announced a vehicle that is closer to a pedal assist bicycle while still retaining moped functionality that would be the Alto you guessed right if the P1 could be described as the illegitimate child of the Cybert truck the Alto is definitely the P1’s offspring you can tell by the same boxy design with sharp angles you could slide bread on the extruded aluminum body offered in either plain silver or matte black and the minimalist design of the cockpit the Alto takes the advantages of the P1 and scales them down so you can bring them to the bike lane as the headline clearly says this isn’t an ebike in the more traditional understanding of the phrase leaning toward a more mopedike design instead infinite Machine describes it as class 2 ebike but the design is that of a moped you can legally ride in the bike lane the Alto Max is out at 20 mph in the bike lane and 33 mph when you take it to the street in proper traffic it comes with pedals which you can fold into ride in moped only mode using torque infinite Machine says that you can lock the pedals in place magnetically and use pedal assist in the bike lane which is what you’d expect from a class 2 bike however in the video there’s no trace of that the Alto is shown only in moped mode that could be because the feature hasn’t been fully developed yet or it could be an oversight on the part of the marketing team we’ll know for sure as the delivery date draws near power comes from a whisper quiet 750 VATH hub motor fed by a ULcertified 48V 25 A battery located under the seat it’s a hot swappable one which you can remove with one hand simply sliding it out when you need to swap it for a fresh one or more likely take it upstairs to your apartment for charging the construction of the Altto means you can leave it outside without worrying about what will happen to it if exposed to the elements estimated range is a mere 40 mi with the consolation that you can get a half charge in just 1 hour using fast charging the Alto is designed to carry two passengers in perfect comfort infinite Machine doesn’t mention a payload capacity probably because some details are still being ironed out a pair of hidden foot pegs and grab handles are available for the rear passenger so they can ride safely alto comes with integrated turning lights and powerful adjustable headlight and tail light the minimalist cockpit comes with a bright display that offers essential stats but the real key to the machine is the infinite machine infinite security suite it allows the Alto to stay online at all times so owners can get detailed information on their vehicle not just regarding mileage and battery life but also location infinite Machine says that the Alto is virtually theft proof through the integration of GPS tracking an Apple Air Tag slot electric locking app notifications and a dedicated kickstand Ulock whichever method a thief would consider to potentially take your Alto or damage it Infinite Machine has integrated a feature to counter it last but not least the Alto is modular allowing you to add extras or later remove them so that you get a personalized ride that suits your style and your specific needs infinite Machine lists add-ons like a child carrier seat front and rear racks and baskets accessory plates hooks several mounting points and the U-lock for ergonomic parking these will obviously add to the final price but the starting MSRP is considerably lower than what you’d have to pay for the bigger and more powerful P1 the Alto starts at $3,495 with the first batch of delivery heading out in the fall of 2025

nfinite Machine’s Olto is a formidable new player in the world of ebikes, designed specifically for the bike lane, but bold enough to challenge the everyday car. With its angular, automotive inspired frame, hot swappable battery, and enough power to reach over 30 mph, Olto is built for the demands of modern mobility.
