Volvo V60 Plug in Hybrid Review: 100mph (Tremendous)
hello there let’s have a quick look at this thing it’s a Volvo V60 T8 plug-in hybrid all-wheel drive ultra and it’s nice really nice welcome to Cary TV [Music] the Volvo V60 is a prestigious mediumsiz family estate that rivals cars such as the Mercedes C-Class and guess what the version we’re testing today is top of the range this plug-in hybrid is propelled by a 2 L 4 cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor that’s powered by a battery the battery for the motor can be charged via this socket and a cable connected to a charger of course or the car’s petrol engine here’s the interior which feels a good quality now to start the car we twist this knob clockwise just like that and now the digital instrument cluster springs to life as we’d expect we select the gears via this knob here it’s an automatic so we go down for drive up for reverse neutral’s in there somewhere as well and look there is the park button and as we’re parked we’d better press it reversing camera in fact we got cameras all around on this one beautiful leather seats look at those oh I like those very much a decent size glove box which we can see down there and for some reason a clipboard we’ve also got some rather nifty storage here in the central armrest between the front seats and they incorporate USB charging points and that 12vt thing as for the rear seats there they are drink that in very nice this V60 also has 455 horsepower that’s a lot 8-speed auto transmission all-wheel drive to optimize traction it hits 62 mph in 4.6 seconds which is fast and it averages 353.1 mp gallon which is remarkable and just look at the car’s styling it’s very nice it’s very Volvo the V60 is nice to drive as well any cars coming no we’re clear the steering for example it’s beautifully weighted not too heavy not too light the car turns in the corners really nicely it doesn’t wallow too much but at the same time it’s not rock solid and stiff unlike some modern cars it’s just a really nice comfortable long distance cruiser so much so that we’re going to take it up to 100 mph on a private road where it’s legal because it inspires that much confidence now where’s that track gone okay we are now doing exactly 10 mph which isn’t blisteringly quick but in a moment when this track is clear we’re going to accelerate full throttle all the way out to 100 milesPH are you ready let’s take it back to 10 that is 10 waiting for the track to be clear wheelshoot is now full throttle 50 70 90 100 that didn’t take long and the car feels absolutely solid absolutely composed as if we could do this all day which we might we’re gaining on that car in front he’s supposed to give way to us but I don’t think he’s going to come on mate out the way oh we got to break that’s a shame we’re back to 7570 now oh he’s pulling out the way full throttle woohoo back to 100 oh I do like this car standard equipment includes Google Maps assistant and play four drive modes pilot assist which in some scenarios can steer accelerate and brake on your behalf and a power tailgate that can be opened by waving your foot under the bumper clever there’s also an app for your phone that lets you control the car remotely for example you can adjust the temperature in the cabin before you get in to make life more comfortable the Volvo also has this panoramic roof with an electric sun shade underneath heated seats throughout and a 14 speakeraker stereo it’s certainly very well equipped in summary then the Volvo is good to drive powerful stylish beautifully equipped remarkably fuel efficient at least on paper and excellent value for money prices start at £55,260 on the downside the car’s nearly 4.8 m long so it needs a big parking bay its cargo capacity is 481 L which is less than some cheaper versions of the V60 and some of the optional extras seem expensive £92 for a luggage net no thank you so what do you think about this Volvo do you love it or hate it and why you’re welcome to have your say in the comment section of this video and while you’re there don’t forget to subscribe to Car Spy TV do me a favor and click like on this video and while you do those things I’m going to take this car for one more lap bye [Music]
