Meet the VW ID.7, an electric car that we’ve been screaming out for ever since the introduction of the Nissan Leaf in 2010 – the EV that started it all.
Why has it taken SO long for a roomy, family friendly electric estate car to be produced?
If anything, this is actually the ideal form factor for an electric car, and hopefully it will signal a change of direction in EV design, away from the same old cut and paste SUVs, to something a little more practical, useful and imaginative.
I became seriously impressed the more I drove the VW ID.7, and that’s not something I thought I’d be saying when I first hopped in it. Even its looks grew on me over the course of two weeks.
I covered over 1000 miles in this car, and it was possibly the most relaxing and easy-going 1000 miles I’ve ever driven.
