I’m going to do a trackday soon for my birthday, Which car would you choose between a Ferrari California, Ford Mustang GT 5.0 or Aston Martin V8 Vantage??? As a car enthusiast which ONE would you recommend?
I am leaning towards the Ford Mustang GT 5.0, As it is SO ICONIC and looks SO COOL!!!!

I forgot to mention, I am already doing a Lamborghini Gallardo, NEED one more car, hence the post above…

If the Lambo isn’t a roadster and these are all automatics…. Ferrari because it’ll have the most responsive paddle shifters and you get to hear that v8 better with the roof off (unless they make you keep it up).

Vantage. The Cali isn’t a “proper” Ferrari. The Mustang would be good, but the Aston is more exclusive.

dude, the Ferrari, hands down. you have a lot more opportunities to drive a Mustang than you do a Ferrari. The Vantage is pretty good too but cmon man, its a FERRARI. don’t blow this opportunity.

You’ll always regret driving a Mustang over an Aston. Doesn’t matter the feel or performance. It’s a sub 40k car anyone can buy. The vantage is not that. It’s actually special

Drive the Aston. Come drive my 5.0 if you want

    The Aston Martin.

The Mustang is, well… A Mustang. The California has always been an “also ran” in my books. I’ve got a nick name for it that I won’t repeat here. Suffice to say, it’s a Ferrari in name only, and I’d rather drive a used 355 or 360 looooooooooooong before a Cali T.

    This is just MY opinion.

If the AM is manual, take that. You cant go wrong with any of the choices really, one is a Ferrari even if the weakest one, both AM and Ferrari will be something you most likely never own anyway. The Mustang anyone can take, rent one from Hertz and go to town at a track day. Probably the AM, you wont have to worry about reliability and maintenance, just drive it and be done.

Ferrari, just because i’ve never driven a Ferrari.

You must not be from the USA if you’re even considering a mustang compared to the other two. Insanely common car here, the others are v rare

Bro, you can rent the mustang at almost any airport. Is this a joke?

Personally, I would go with the Vantage, but I’m a huge James Bond fan.

The Vantage will leave you with a smile and will also fulfill that base line desire to both FEEL and HEAR the car you’re tracking. It’s exotic in nature and in name, and when you look at it, you probably won’t see 15 of them on the way back home in a parking lot or stop light.

Is the Mustang a fun car to Hoon around in? Absolutely, but it’s a rear wheel drive V8 car just like the Vantage…but without the exclusivity. You WILL see a slew of Mustang GT’s in every parking lot of every shopping center and/or stop light you enter…forever…because they are so so common.

The Ferrari California is a fantastic cruiser/GT…but to be honest, I don’t think you’ll have as much fun in it on a track. Its bulbous like the other two, but its not proportionality as sporty, and the fact that its a convertible makes it handle wonky (my neighbor used to have one…and its a beautiful car, but even he agrees that it’s not a sports car by any means comparatively to other cars of the same cost. He has a newer NSX now that he says is vastly better…I tend to agree, even from a cosmetic stand point).

  13. quinnsterr

Those are all awful track cars but the california is for sure the most awful.

  14. elcdragon

Ferrari for sure. You can turo a Mustang pretty easily and even rent one from official companies

  15. swimming_cold

I feel like the Ferrari will have the best driving dynamics of the three so that would be my choice

  16. chauggle

Aston Martin. You don’t have to worry about service afterwards.

The Mustang will swap ends and kill you.

The Ferrari is kinda junk, tbh – not a terrific car.

Too bad they don’t have any Porsches for you to pick from – you’d really find out what’s up.

  17. ChosenPrince

taking the mustang is crazy work lol

  18. slimcargos

Honestly I woudnt pay to track any of those options. No Porsche’s? Hell id rather track a Civic Type R or a Miata over those.

  19. rubbbberducky

You’ll see the mustang on every road, everyday, but you’ll hardly see the Aston driving around everyday

  20. mariofosheezy

I rode in the Aston Martin suv for a hot lap and those cars have some serious performance I would recommend the Aston. The mustang is nice but not as much as a track car as a straight line car imo. The Ferrari is meh

  21. Known-Diet-4170

on most occasion i’d say ferrari, but THAT ferrari is not really a track car, it’s more of a weekend cruiser, the vantage was at the time the most sport focused aston you could get, as far as driving experience go that would probably be your best bet

  22. emotionaI_cabbage

You want to drive a shitty Mustang over a Ferrari or Aston? Wow

  23. Vantage, you’ll never know when the next breakdown is so give it a go while it still starts (I’m being serious, it’s a jag engine for the V8). Cali isn’t what you want to use on a track day and let’s be honest, not all people can handle the mustang on day-one because you’ll need another instructor on how to control a car at all times for that.

Safe to say the Aston is the best choice here, just make sure you get the manual one because the auto is like a first-gen automated manual with paddle shifters, they take almost a second to change gears and sometimes refuses to downshift.

  24. StatementOk470

Aston is the only real choice here. That said, I got to experience a Ferrari in Spyder form and it’s sublime. But it was a 360…

  25. cloudofevil

You can go to the Ford dealer and drive a used mustang. So don’t choose that.

  26. mboyer75

The Ferrari for sure! Then the Aston Martin.
