Chilling in the garage & Looking for serious opinions –
I’m a Toyota Master Technician
I’m looking for input on a project car – I’ve always stuck to Honda’s, and I’m getting to a point where I want to jump in a get a car to spend time on and keep for a long time – I’m not rich, so I can’t really afford to keep buying and selling cars.
I’m just curious, if you could have one car for the rest of your life (realistically) what would it be? No wrong answers, I figure I’d just see what cars come up the most to zero in on a few.
Thank you ☺️

I’m a Lexus Pro Tech from Australia and I was in the same position as you until I wrote down a few things:
– Limitations, such as financial, knowledge, stock and availabilities of parts.
– Priorities, such as size (kie, coupe, or sedan), platform (FR, FF, MR, AWD), transmission (manual, CVT, DCT), cable throttle or wire throttle.
– Do you want to build around a car or an engine?
For me it’s got to be within the world of Toyota and Lexus for its price across all aspects, I know the product, and I’ve got access to their resources and parts department daily. Next, I want a JDM with a manual transmission, sedan, FR platform, and cable throttle-based. Lastly, I care more about the aesthetics than the performance so with all that I have nailed it down to an Altezza RS200Z, now I can always change the engine to a 2JZ-GTE if I want since I know it will fit with ease but the aesthetics of the car is something I cannot dramatically change.
I hope this helps you with your journey and stay torqued!!
