Got this beautiful JZS171 the other day, fully stock. Already disconnected the blue plug, however, the turbo flutter isn’t as prominent as I’d like it to be.

Any recommendations on affordable mods that won’t cost me an arm and a leg for a full exhaust system or new turbo?

HKS SSQV sound videos didn’t quite hit either – sounds kinda eh, bit too much going on and it just looks cheap imo.

Also any recommendations for a cold air intake? Any MAF issues I’d have to deal with as a result?

Thanks!

Just remove the Catalytic converter and cat back. She will sound like a champ. 👍

Fujitsubo exhausts can make anything sound better. Better performance over stock (minus the R35 GT-R), but without breaking noise laws and attracting attention of authorities.

Just removing stock airbox for a pod filter will make the turbo sounds loud. You’ll have to cut off the section with the air sensor from the box since it is one piece on the Crown. You can leave the stock rubber elbow or buy a kit with a metal one off eBay, not much difference.

Any 3 inch exhaust will be loud enough. I bought a Reinhardt exhaust from Yahoo auctions and shipped it using FromJapan. Cost about $1300 with shipping. But any muffler shop can likely make one for less, I just liked the design.

Smaller piping= louder but less aggressive sounding
