Designed in the 60s as a replacement to the aging 603 from the 50s, these proposed replacements would use the same chassis but would have been lighter and more powerful.
The 603A (pictures 1-3) had a 2472 cc V8 engine, capable of 115 hp and a top speed of 170km/h.
The 603X (pictures 4-6) was another prototype, with an increase in power of 122 hp.
The 603A ambulance (Picture 7) an ambulance wagon variant of the 603A.
Some additional 603X prototypes (Pictures 8-9)
Sadly, none of these ever made it into production.
And instead the successor of the original 603 from the 50s was the 613, which came out in the 70s and was made till the 90s.

Love Tatra! What a cool maker!
I love odd vehicles like this and it started with late 50’s/60’s Citroen CV’s and DS’s, the Fiat 500 and Renault Dauphine. They were much more interesting to me than the sleds made in Detroit. The 603x would have fit right in there.
Wow tks. Watta mighta been!
Cool! Weird! Looks like the child of a Chevy Corvair and a Citroën DS
That 603A is glorious.
The 603A is beautiful
The one looks corvair-ish in the front
I like the A. Nice lines.
The X looks too much like a Citation.
