Clearly I’ve got a bit of a thing for hatchbacks. I’ll forever argue that a hatchback like the GTI makes a fantastic car for a family of 4 (rooftop cargo box for roadtrips). And my kids absolutely love the Lotus, they get super excited when I use it for the school drop off on nice days.

Nice looking Elite! As an owner of a British and German car, with an Italian thrown in for good measure, I can recognize a fellow masochist when I see one. The missus likes Esprits, I almost bought an ’88 Special Edition, and I have always thought it’d be cool to have one of those and an Eclat (facelifted version, please).
Agreed with the argument for the GTI but I may be biased.
