Selling The Tesla & Saving Money Using Advanced Man Maths!

Selling The Tesla & Saving Money Using Advanced Man Maths!

I think I’ve just reached God level man maths by thinking of a way of saving money by selling the model 3 the standard wrench plus I’m in right now I mean we’re talking real high level justification here to myself the misses and I guess to yourselves as well I’d

Love to know what you think by the end of this video my plan is to save money by selling this and then replacing it with another used EV every few months I mean I think this makes sense but even I’m going oh this is a this is a stretch

This is man maths to the extreme so let me tell you the situation and then my idea I’ve recently changed jobs some of you you will already know this and my commute went from let’s say 20 to 60 odd miles a day 5 days a week then there’s YouTube stuff on top of

That and then there’s personal stuff on top of that of course but effectively I did well above the UK average I don’t have to go to the office as often sometimes one day a week sometimes two or three very occasionally four but effectively it’s now a 200m round trip

Almost if I need to go to the office that is not just more miles certainly if I do two three days a week at the you know at the office but it’s all in one car as opposed to spread across two or three so as I said earlier I was doing

20 to 60 a day which again is a lot more than the average but it didn’t matter which car I took when I had the Zoe content car 22 K hour the old one that was fine because it was all urban town to town driving site to sight to site to

Home then charge again I could take the say at me with it small battery because all I have to do is enough for that day and then charge at home I could take this I could take a press car if if we had one for the week or whatever so all

The miles for work and commuting and to an extent YouTube essentially was spread across wherever I had available thank you now though with this commute because it’s all motoare miles I’m sat on the m6 in roadworks right now yay I’m going to be picking the model 3

For pretty much every trip it’s a bigger car it’s comfortable it’s got radar guided cruise control autopilot if I wish although it’s a little bit on some of these Journeys it’s got the range if I if I want that I don’t need that I mean I could take the me I

Could take the i3s because I can charge at the office 20 P per kilow hour it’s more than twice as much as home but it’s very good price I think very reasonable but because of the size of this and the fact that the me and small cars aren’t

Exactly the most comfortable to do what could be some days a 2 and 1 half hour drive each way I’ll shut up I’m going to be taking this cuz it’s the perfect car to do this sort of long regular journey in that I have access to anyway

The trouble with that is at the moment this is nearly 4 years old and by that point it will have 60,000 miles on it so it’s higher than the average 15 a year but it’s not a really high level yet if I keep this another 2 years it will

Definitely be on 100,000 mil now that’s a mental barrier not well it’s not just a mental barrier it’s a barrier that means the warranty on the drivetrain and back battery runs out and again it’s that oh it’s done over 100,000 Mi I don’t want a car over 100,000 Mi the

Price doesn’t necessarily drop off a cliff as it were but it definitely reduces it it has a dive now I’ve had a brief look online on autot Trader if I sold this privately which I always do then I’d probably get about 18 185,000 for it so let’s assume 18 Grand I’m sat

On 18 ,000 now so that’s if I sold this what I’d have to play with maybe I could add some on top of that but essentially that’s what it’s worth in another 2 years so by the time it’s 6 years old and it’s done 100,000 mil or more what’s

It going to be worth then 10 9 10 11 around that I reckon it’s hard to say I mean there’s there’s 5-year old model 3’s out now but they haven’t been out long enough to know roughly what it’ll be worth but let’s say 10 I think that’s a fair estimate

That means it’s costing me £8,000 to keep this car that’s £4,000 a year to keep this running so to speak even though the depreciation hit given the fact it’s 4 year old it’s already happened you still have depreciation which is determined by age and mileage

I’m going to be putting the age on at the normal rate of course um but I’m going to be really ping the miles on so can I make it cheaper than 4 grand a year effectively is what I’m thinking by buying a car keeping it for a few months

Maybe up to six then selling it and then rinse and repeat that I’ve bought three used EVS not for this reason for just for pure content purposes over the last year or so the Renault Zoey I sold that for more than I paid for it the Sayan me

10,200 I paid for that a brief looking Auto Trader tells me it’s still worth at least that even though I bought that in August and we’re now into March 6 months and several thousand miles later I could basically get my money back or very close to the

I3s 15 and a half Grand who knows what I might get for that but I reckon I should be able to get my money back hard to say there’s always a gamble but it’ll be close to it I reckon cuz it was such a good price and that’s the key getting a

Real good pric car and then selling it at a normal price I suppose if I pile 10,000 Mi on a car that’s got 30 so if you go from 30 to 40,000 mil it makes a little bit of a difference but not that much I remember reading something from

Quentin Wilson about 15 20 years ago which has come back into my head he bought a brand new car every I think it’s either three or six months same as this really and he I think it was a car luxury a Ford car luxury for his wife he

Was buying it from a Car Supermarket which were relatively new at that stage and probably pre-registered essentially a big discount on new and he says I’ll keep it 3 four 5 6 months sell it it’ll still be worth basically what I paid for it because I got such a good discount

Initially and then I’ll get another one and think about it in that time I’ve never had to buy any tires it’s always under warranty there are no repair bills Beyond Fuel and and uh insurance which you have on any car I’m not even had to pay for a

Service so that’s kind of come back to me with this I’m like well I won’t be buying a new one it’ll be a used EV but beyond maybe a service that I might trip into if I can do this if I can buy a car like the previous two or possibly three

That I at least get my money back with then logically if if I can keep that up you see where the mmff’s coming in here I’m going from £4,000 a year cost to ,000 hell even two grand of loss by doing that a year is having the running

Costs of doing lots and lots of miles and of course I’m in a unique position I can generate more content for YouTube I can earn a little bit of revenue from those videos in theory not a lot you don’t get monetization you don’t get a lot you compared to what I think people

Think but ultimately it’s a benefit sorry I’m gonna have to put sunglasses on this really Lo that son I’m going well what can you get for up to 25 Grand down to 10 doesn’t have to be expensive car I would like it to be good on the

Motorway of course I mean for under 25 Grand you can get okay miles maybe even lower miles ionic fives Jaguar IP the K I would never want to really own on a used Market because they ain’t got the greatest reputation quite frankly for reliability I’ve seen a few for 2234

Grand from a Jaguar dealer with a 2-year Jaguar warranty it’s an ipce keep that a few months sell it on with a warranty that might be doable Long Range model 3 I’ve seen you know heat pump uh facelift versions 2021 the one with the black trim could get a longrange model 3 it’s

A quicker car it’s got longer range it’s you know got the heat pump got slightly different interior although it’s effectively the same car as I’m in that’s a possibility yeah again I don’t have to go to that level car used Model S Repair issues aside that I’ve mentioned in a

Previous video it’s like well that would be a good mway Cruiser and those come with an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty up to 2020 anyway I could get a 2017 version of that or a 2018 version of a Model S even if it’s done 120,000 Mi it won’t matter and who’s going to

Notice if it goes from 120 to 130,000 Mi all I’d be paying realistically in depreciation is that extra few months I’ve kept it so if I can get one at a bag in price I might again be able to get my money back so to speak there’s a

Load of options in fact if you can think of any from 10 to 25 Grand give me your ideas so that’s one option another option is just to keep this car of course pile the miles on it run it into the ground get 150 200,000 miles on it which they’re absolutely

Capable of doing I’ve seen model 3s that are what four year old 5y old with 150,000 miles on already Tesla are well known for being able to do a lot of miles so I’m torn really because there’s a certain satisfaction and appeal to having this car from new which I did

I’ve bought this brand new in 2020 and I’m going look I’ve just done 150 or 200,000 miles on an EV here you go that’s one video though isn’t it and it’ll take me another couple of years or well three or four years to do that I

Think in my head if I had the choice I prefer to have several different cars cuz who who doesn’t like buying new cars or use new cars um that that that’s more exciting isn’t it I think personally so that’s the theory that’s the Zen level

Of Man masks that I’ve used or using to maybe do this I don’t know if I’ll do it I don’t know if it’s something that will absolutely happen but I’m going from spreading the miles from different cars I have access to for work to spreading the miles to different

Cars I’ve not owned yet for work so there we go whoa what was that okay again let me know what you think let me know if you got any ideas you know scored enyak over there I’ve seen them for under 20 grand too big realistic for what we need and I don’t

Think law would like driving some of the larger cars I mentioned but they are temporary options let me know what you think and if I do this then subscribe to make sure you don’t miss it see what fun and frivolity I get into if you want to

Spot the channel even click the join button it’s 99p a month you get a video on Sunday instead of Friday and there’s driving on the second channel that has the podcast and occasional extra videos as well although due to work and lots of driving I haven’t done much on there

Recently I apologize for that so thanks for watching guys let me know see you soon I’m on the m6 for another 45 minutes oh God

God level man maths in action to justify buying different cars every few months or so!
