BMW CE 02 Test 2024 – A new type of bike! Impressions, Range, Charging

According to BMW it is an e parkour with what that means is that this is neither an electric motorcycle nor an electric scooter nor an ebike as BMW claims it it is an urban vehicle aimed at young people but also car owners looking for a more practical vehicle for City use now

Motorcycles need I think it’s a very special design as a company known for doing what it wants with design BMW has created something unique now let’s talk about the versions of this model we have two motorization the 4 kwatt one that can be driven with
An AM license in the EU and then the 11 kwatt version that we have here in front of us ridable with an A1 license in the EU there are also two models the basic black model and the more special Highline version which costs 880 more it comes with blue and white
And gray stickers a gold fork and additional features like heated grips a phone holder and the third riding Mode called flash I’m going to talk to you about that one a bit later now we have everything here in this Highline version these features are all part of this
Highline package the 11 KW version has a new electric motor with two air cooled batteries above it and a belt for power transmission we have two brakes but ABS is only on the front wheel which I find a bit unfortunate especially for beginners or city riding where you I
Don’t know ride on the rails of the Trum or whatever and so where ABS on the rear wheel can be crucial what I really liked was the suspension the 37 mm Fork it’s the same as in the black one uh in the Black Version I mean it’s just golden on on
The Highline version and they s mounted shock adjustable in preload was great the suspension was really excellent uh making it a very smooth ride even on imperfect roads in fact I observed the the guy in front of me on on his CO2 while we rode um through the city and I
Saw his license plate holder just shaking and bouncing around but I had to say while riding it I didn’t feel anything any imperfections at all so really really great suspension the 14in tires with these thick rubbers help smooth out imperfections even more and that’s a good thing the seat is
Pretty comfortable and there’s an option for a comfort seat which is 20 mm higher uh but I really don’t think you would need that uh because I don’t think anyone is going on Long tours or with this bike even more so because its range is pretty limited talking about range
With a full charge you get about 90 kilm we journalists would have gotten 70 to 80 because all we do is just give it the beans all the time then then hardcore break and then ride like a maniac so that is not very indicative of that now
Let’s talk about the riding modes we have three riding modes flow soft and Flash flow is a standard mode with average throttle response and recuperation soft has an average throttle response without recuperation and flat has the most aggressive throttle response and the most aggressive recuperation settings now we

11 KW version we have a maximum power output of like it says 11 Kow and a torque of 5955 five I’m sorry Newton met now the torque is noticeable giving a powerful thrust especially when accelerating from a stop uh the recuperation is adjustable in three modes but it doesn’t recover when the
Battery is fully loaded in fact it really only starts to recuperate once it’s once the battery is at 50% and I’m really not a fan of that feature why should it only recuperate once the battery is at half charge the recuperation for me at least is part of
The fun I have when riding electric bikes it’s a shame really now the 11 Kow version has two batteries with a total capacity of 3.92 Kow hours providing a range of about 90 km before having to charge like I said the charging can be done with a standard 0.9 KW socket uh
Charger charging can be done with a standard 0.9 kilowatt uh charger that comes with the standard model and or a 1.5 KW charger that comes in the Highline version now that alone is reason for me to recommend to you to buy this bike in its Highline version now
The fast charger can charge from 20 to 80% in an hour and 40 minutes so exactly 100 minutes the price for the BMW ceo2 is 7,450 quid in the UK 7,5 $99 in the US but with the Highline package you spend an additional $800 quid or dollar probably if it’s
880 it should be something along those lines in the UK and in the US as well now while it may seem pricey for a scooter bike parkour or call it whatever you want in a 125c category the unique Aesthetics and features cater to a specific audience possibly those who
