Highlights from the F.A.T. Ice Race 2024 in Zell am See | Volkswagen

The atmosphere here is great and I believe it will be a sensational day. As VW, it’s important for us to be here with our 50-year anniversary. The people like it. There are many car enthusiasts and, somehow, they all belong together.

You hear a lot of great engines, and you see a lot of nice cars, no matter where you look. I am very excited about the Ice Race. My grandpa drove a Golf, my mother drove a Golf. I learned how to drive in a Golf and now I own a Golf 1 convertible,

Which actually means a lot to me. My father had a Golf Cross Country. Dad, what possessed you to sell it? and I believe that’s true for many other families, too. and I believe that’s true for many other families, too. The Golf was the first model of a race car I ever raced.

It was incredible. An absolutely dynamic driving experience. I think that the Golf is one of the coolest cars that Volkswagen have, actually. The Golf is the core of our brand. We made 37 million vehicles over the past 50 years. Everyone has a Golf-story to tell,

And this place is the perfect backdrop for it. The anniversary of our Golf. To me, the Golf is a symbol of freedom.

🧊 🏁 Greetings from Zell am See! The F.A.T. Ice Race was a great occasion to ring in our 50th anniversary year of golf and to show guests and car enthusiasts our new Golf 8.5 family.
🛷 One of our highlights was definitely that racing legend Hans-Joachim Stuck and rallycross world champion Johan Kristoffersson took our camouflaged new Golf R models for a spin on the Ice Track – what a blast!
