Into flames on a busy London Street have a little search up you’ll probably find some metro.co.uk article on it an electric bus has gone up in smoke it happened at 700 a.m. this morning in Wimbledon near the Alexander Pub I’m going to go out on a limb and say that
That’s probably within the low emission zone so um how much do you have to pay in fines when an electric bus that had to be built probably abroad and then shipped over here and you got all the emissions that are involved in making the bus and shipping it over here and
Then yes brilliant zero emissions at the tailpipe for whilst it’s driving around then it goes up in smoke causing all of those emissions uh then you’ve got all the emissions that are going to be caused in the cleanup operation and in moving the charred remains of the bus to
Wherever it then needs to go to be scrapped then you’ve got all the emissions that are involved in building another one and shipping that over here so we’ve got two buses for the price of one because we moved to electric buses to save the emissions doesn’t work does it doesn’t

Attended at the scene the bus had caught fire what a great statement uh a statement from the Met police on the bus fight yes well at the scene we noted that the bus was on fire and the reason we were there was because the bus was on
Fire because if the bus wasn’t on fire then there’s really not any need for us to be there the bus was on fire no reported injuries we thank the local community for their patience and cooperation as they didn’t have much Choice did they as Emergency Services

Fire really is the smoke uh there’s no smoke without fire so at the point that the house was filling with smoke was probably the point that they realized there was a fire then they went downstairs and discovered that their EV that they own it’s probably least actually wasn’t it cuz no one actually
Buys them they just sort of pay to borrow them um so okay it doesn’t matter whether or not they owned the EV it was an EV that effectively belonged to them depending on the way the V5 document works because you’re only ever a registered keeper but this is in the UK

The the um team that went in and they had an F-150 America’s bestselling car since pretty much forever pickup truck sort of thing like an estate car but less practical because you can’t put things in the back cuz it gets stolen and they’re usually four-wheel drive so
