A few weeks ago I took a trip from my hometown to my wife’s hometown for my FIL’s celebration of life.

We literally did no planning, hopped in the car and navigated via the car’s navigation. We also didn’t start at 100% charge.

**Stop 1 – Hope, BC**
Pretty boring location placement. Behind a Dairy Queen. Definitely not a 24/7 type city, so everything was closed when we arrived early in the morning.

Trip Planner and its interesting math:

**Stop 2 – Kamloops, BC, Arrive 7:16, Leave 7:59**
Not a fantastic location; at the tourist centre, but the only thing open 24/7 is a 7/11 about a 5-10 minute walk.

Despite the interesting math, arrived with 16 KM.

**Stop 3 – Revelstoke, BC, Arrive 10:29, Leave 10:51**
Location is probably the ugliest on the entire route.

**Stop 4 – Golden, BC, Arrive ??, Leave 1:54**
Apparently Golden has two separate Supercharger sites. This one is beside a park that is for hotel guests **and** Tesla owners.

**Stop 5, Canmore, AB, Arrive ??, Leave 4:07**
While the Supercharger is located in a strip mall, the surroundings of this town are gorgeous. Can’t help but be in awe looking around.

That was the last Supercharger we needed to hit to make it to Calgary that evening. I think we arrived with around 180ish km to our Airbnb around 5:30ish.

We charged at the CrossIron Mills while shopping. Nothing too exciting about it.

Now for the way back:

**Stop 1 – Canmore, AB, Arrive ??, Leave 6:51**

Still in a strip mall, still gorgeous mountains on every side of us.

I experienced a charger error here where the Supercharger initially wouldn’t unlock. I had to press it once, push it back in and then press the unlock button again before it would release.

**Stop 2 – Golden, BC, Arrive ??, Leave ??**

Forgot to get pictures and info, but it is the second set of Superchargers in Golden. The first were at a not great spot, these are in a Chevron parking lot that has Tim Hortons and KFC.

First stall I plugged into errored immediately. I was worried I had damaged my charge port in Canmore but it turns out it was just that stall. First stall I’ve ever seen down.

**Stop 3 – Salmon Arm, Arrive 7:53, Leave ??**

Fine stop, but again there’s not much open if you’re not there during regular business hours. Mostly interesting how big the other chargers are in comparison to the Superchargers.

**Stop 4 – Kamloops, BC, Arrive ??, Leave ??**
Same Supercharger as before. Again, nothing besides a 7/11 5-10 minutes down the street is open beyond regular business hours.

**Stop 5 – Hope, BC, Arrive ??, Leave ??**
Same Supercharger as the first one. Nothing exciting here.

**TOTAL SUPERCHARGER COST**
Fraser Valley, BC -> Calgary, Alberta: $47.84

Driving around Calgary (gym trips x3, mall trip, trip to Pisces Pet Emporium): $21.65

Calgary, Alberta -> Fraser Valley, BC: $60.68

The experience was pretty great for road-tripping. We planned zero part of the trip in regards to charging. Hopped in the car and let the navigation do its thing. The charging stops were also the perfect break up of sitting to stretching, personally.

EDIT: bonus album of pictures of the trip, which do not do it justice:
