EDITED: for clarification in 3rd paragraph.
I have a 2018 Nissan Leaf. I recently threw down $140 for [this adapter](https://ev-lectron.com/products/lectron-tesla-to-j1772-adapter-max-48a-250v-for-tesla-high-powered-connectors-destination-chargers-and-mobile-connectors-black) to finally have Tesla charging options. I charger I tried in Southpark Meadows was responsive with the adapter, but would not begin a charge.
I downloaded the Tesla app, set up a profile, put billing info on file, and even signed up for the Tesla charging network for $13 a month—all with no luck. In the Tesla app, it looks like only certain charging areas are open to non-Teslas. Regardless if you pay into the network or not.
I found some headlines that the upcoming Tesla Magic Docks will be available to non-Teslas, but I don’t expect those to be in Texas anytime soon. https://insideevs.com/news/657335/tesla-magic-dock-rollout-march-2023/
Do any other non-Tesla EV drivers else have experience with this? Any suggestions?
