Hey guys, I recently purchased a Nissan Leaf 2018 hoping to qualify for used ev tax credit from the IRS. I noticed it only says a total sale price of under $25,000. But what is considered the total sale price?

1. Is it the total sale price as in the dealer’s window sticker MSRP price? (car was $17,998)
2. Or is it a fee after sales tax, registration fee, or CarMax document fee, I also bought the extended warranty. If so my total comes out to ($22,196) which is still okay
3. Or is it the total amount financed including the bank loan interest rate? (6%) ($26,260)

I have no idea what to put since the direction on the “total sale price” is not described well.

edit: since I’m asking questions here anyways.

What is this? On 8936 form its asking “Enter the date vehicle was placed in service”

is it when I bought it from Carmax? or is it when the original owner first bought it?
